London 2012: Olympics Opening Ceremony Technical Rehearsal

I had an amazing opportunity to watch the technical rehearsal for the opening ceremony of the Olympics here in London on Monday! As soon as I got to Stratford station, it was just absolutely packed with people. It was so hard to walk through the crowd especially with me being so short! But I really felt the excitement which got me so excited too even though I was on my own.

The Olympic Park is MASSIVE. I had to go through airport style security twice to get inside the park. I didn't get the chance to walk around the Olympic Park but they had many food stalls and staff around. Everyone was pretty much taking pictures and talking about how amazing and exciting it is to be there.

The stadium itself is also massive! It just felt amazing knowing that in a couple of days, great athletes from all over the world will be there for the opening. We waited quite a bit before the rehearsal actually started. Danny Boyle, who is the director of the opening ceremony made a little speech about it. The rehearsal was almost like the real thing but because they want to keep some elements a surprise, there were a few bits and bobs missing like certain video clips they wanted to show. Danny Boyle also asked for us not to upload any pictures and videos online before friday so it would not ruin it for everyone else. "Save the surprise" ;)

The whole show was amazing. From what I saw from where I was sitting anyway. People watching it in TV will probably see more than those who are watching it in the stadium. But of course, the atmosphere is just different and the fact that you're there present with all these amazing people is better. I really enjoyed the whole show though and I'm sure everyone else did too. There was a lot of "oohs" and "aaahs" and certain parts of it were very comedic. The concept was really good and there's something for everyone. I badly want to post pictures, but I don't want to ruin it. I can't wait for the rest of the world to see it. I'm so proud to be a Londoner right now :)

Ombre Nails.
This is my first time doing 'Ombre' nails on myself. I must say, though it's not the most perfect, I'm quite happy since this is my first time doing it! :) I have a growing passion for nail art and I would really like to learn more techniques. I also need to buy more nail paint and brushes so I can practice!

The Amazing Spiderman!

We all know who Spider-man is. If you don't, well you are a loser. Ha just kidding!
I went to see the film the other week and out of 10, I would rate it 7/10.

Andrew Garfield as Spider-man is actually pretty good. I like him as a better Spider-man than Toby Maguire. I like how they started it from when Peter Parker was a little boy and they showed how his parents left him at his aunt May and Uncle Ben. Emma Stone is also an amazing actress but I don't think she quite pulled off playing a seventeen year old girl. The Lizard was pretty cool too I guess. Obviously it was going to be quite a predictable film. But to be honest I expected more twists and turns. I also watched it in 3d, but it wasn't very 3d-ish. The effects were kinda rubbish. But other than that, I enjoyed the film and I would watch it again. But in 2D :D

My love and respect for Frank Ocean just grew. I just read his letter or note or whatever you want to call it in a screenshot format uploaded on his tumblr account (www.frankocean.tumblr.com). He described how he fell in love for the first time with a man. It was beautifully written and I felt how genuine his words were. Now I don't personally know what it's like to 'come out', but towards the end of the note, there was definitely a sense of bravery in his tone and I felt that he was very relieved that he has written this.

This is the letter/note from Frank Ocean's tumblr page. (www.frankocean.tumblr.com)

He actually has a debut album that is going to be released in about two weeks time titled "Channel Orange" and many critics may say that this is just a gimmick and for attention. Usually, I would say the same. But I think this is actually the perfect time for him to come out and I'm not even saying this only because I am his fan. In his song "We All Try", he sings, "I believe that marriage isn't between a man and woman but between love and love". When I first heard this, I didn't really think much about it and I had no idea it was something rather personal to him. I just thought it was really good lyrics and can be a quotable quote that all the cool kids at tumblr can overuse. Now that he has came out and his debut album is about to be realised, I think his fans will have a more personal connection to his music. I am sure that there are thousands of people out there that are or were in the same position as him regarding his sexuality and I believe that through his music, he can encourage many people to be brave about this. I also respect the way he came out. He did not cause a big scene about it, yet I know it had a really big impact on everyone who read it. His words were beautiful and inspiring. I respect him for being honest about his sexuality. For being brave. I know I'm not the only one  who thinks this. And I know his music and his words will reach out to many people out there.

Results!

I PASSED MY DEGREE!
Overall I got a 2:1! Words aren't enough how happy and pleased I am with myself. I worked so hard the past three years, went through so much stress but I can say that it has definitely paid off and it is so worth it. The feeling is just amazing.  I cannot wait til our graduation! It's not until the 19th September, but yesterday I went to a pre-graduation photoshoot with my family. It was just an overwhelming feeling. Wearing the gown and the toga was amazing. Graduation is going to be so good I honestly cannot wait!

This is me putting on the toga and the robe for the first time and getting ready to have my picture taken! I had the biggest, most cheesiest smile on my face. I seriously cannot wait to order the photographs.
This is the picture with my family. My parents were more excited than me to have our picture taken. I am so glad I have made my parents proud.

This is my graduation portrait! :) I never smile like this in pictures, but I couldn't help it yesterday! :D
